September roundup includes a memorable double for the yard at Lingfield PHOENIX MOON and MY AMBITION WINNING
The yard were obviously delighted to have a double at Lingfield Park early in the month with both Phoenix Moon and My Ambition winning their races under fine rides from Oisin Murphy. Firstly Phoenix Moon was always in charge to control the six furlong race in the finishing straight to win by a little over a length, and then My Ambition squeezed through typically tight Lingfield traffic to ease clear and win his mile race by the same margin. At Windsor on the same day Tribal Rhythm also ran a very good race from a very bad draw, and he wasn't beaten very far, so could soon be winning again when conditions are right.
At Lingfield, Sharma d'Amour got a little outpaced as they had a bit too much speed in the latter stages of the mile race, and although not beaten far she will now step up for her next race over a mile and a quarter, which should suit her well. My Ambition came out again quickly under a penalty at Lingfield to be third to a horse that has won again since, and he was only beaten a couple of lengths and ran well once again.
At Newbury Star of Dubai found that the ground was much too soft for her, and so Hollie Doyle looked after her and will wait for more favourable going conditions before her next run. My Fermoy, racing at Lingfield last week, was just caught out as they quickened down the hill inside the last half mile, and showing signs of greenness he will do much better next time as he wasn't beaten very far at all in sixth place on this occasion.
