The very good racecourse performances keep coming from the yard this week, with three year old Sharma d'Amour going to Windsor and the older hand My Ambition back to Bath on firm ground, both racing over a mile. Under Tom Marquand Sharma d'Amour started strongly and was in close contention throughout, but Tom felt she needed some cover to run to her best, and this wasn't going to happen for her the way the race was run. She pressed the odds on favourite entering the final quarter mile, but was never quite on terms and finally lost two places well inside the last hundred yards to be fourth, but only two and a quarter lengths from a follow up success. Hoping for a more kindly run affair next time when Sharma can return to winning ways.

My Ambition was up in grade for a class 4 handicap over a mile at Bath, with a characteristically small field on the firm going. The outsider of five in the betting, My Ambition didn't run that way at all, travelling strongly throughout in fourth place and moving up powerfully into the last quarter mile. Coming to the final furlong he looked the likely winner under Tyler Heard, but the only older rival in the field, under the top class jockey Jim Crowley, timed his finishing run to perfection to just get past My Ambition at the post. This was a great effort to go down by just half a length in the strongest race he has faced in some time - so the members of the Harrow Racing Club will be delighted to see their lovely chesnut gelding maintain his well being and race form under ideal summer ground conditions.
