MISS DUBAI WINS NICELY and Phoenix Moon rising
At Lingfield Park yesterday afternoon in the sunshine, Miss Dubai acquitted herself well under Tadhg O'Shea to win comfortably over twelve furlongs of the all weather track, staying on very well to forge clear into the final two furlongs. She has come out of the race very well and so might be expected to go again quite soon, as she is in such fine fettle. Later on the card Phoenix Moon was up against some experienced sprinting types over six furlongs of the Lingfield turf track. They went off a little fast for her, as reflected in the relatively quick time for a low grade race, and she just wasn't used to this. Oisin Murphy settled her well in behind, and she was then switched left to make good headway in the last three furlongs, just losing fourth place to the favourite in the closing stages. This was a good run to confirm her progression, and it is felt that Phoenix Moon will be suited by a stiffer six furlongs for her next outing.
