My Ambition back into the frame with a good second at Leicester
After the hot weather earlier in the week, the two runners at Salisbury on Wednesday found that the ground had got too fast, which didn't suit either runner at all - Barry's Boy on his first racecourse outing, in what looked to be a strong race, and Sweet Sister, who really didn't relish the firm going and faded through the last quarter mile to be fourth. The good to firm going was just the ticket for My Ambition, however, who looked a picture at Leicester and ran a very strong race. A little keen in the early stages of the contest he was skipping off the summer ground and moved very well in the middle section of the mile contest. Pushing My Ambition into a lead a full three furlongs out was perhaps a good bit too soon by Rob Hornby, as he was there to be shot at by any closers. He did get collared into the last furlong by just one rival that had formerly been a stone higher in the ratings and who was clearly back into good form, the pair well clear of the rest of the field. My Ambition is sure to be winning again if things fall right for him and if there is still some summer ground around in the next few weeks.
