In a race she probably should have won, Miss Dubai finished second to another maiden, Nancy P, the two well clear of the rest of the field. Jockey Rob Hornby made a sweeping move for home from the top bend of the track, fully half a mile from the finish. This was much too early, and although Miss Dubai kept on gamely up the finishing straight, she had presented the race to a rival who had tracked her move and then outstayed her inside the final furlong, as she just ran out of steam. With a more measured ride next time it is hoped that she will be able to get off the mark over twelve furlongs.
