Arriving in the yard today from book 2 of the Newmarket Tattersalls sales is a lovely bay filly, purchased for Chris van Hoorn Racing. She is Irish bred from the Knockalney Stud, by Sea The Moon out of a Sixties Icon mare named Iconic Choice. The dam was winner of six races, including the listed Radley Stakes at Newbury and a very narrow second in the Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes also at our local track. Close up in the 1000 Guineas, Iconic Choice was also placed second in a listed Pontefract race and then fourth in the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Ascot. All in all this well made filly is a very exciting prospect for Chris, and Denis and the team will start preparing her straight away now she has arrived safely from HQ.
