Busy Saturday morning hosting owners
On Saturday a gallops morning was held for the Keepers' 12 syndicate, with their filly Phoenix Moon having first sight of a crowd for her exercise canters, and also the inaugural meeting for the Harrow Racing Club to see their chesnut Galileo Gold gelding, My Ambition, going through his paces with a fast gallop. Just three runners on the track in recent days, with Waterloo Sunset perhaps the most fancied to go close at Lingfield. He just lost good position on the turn in and conceded first run to some rivals under wily pilots - so that George Bass was denied a clear run up the straight and had to switch back inside to close fast in the final stages, but remaining only fourth beaten just over a length. Milvus had his third race, in what looked quite like a good event at Kempton. He was not able to stay with his rivals in the second half of the race, and finished at the back of the field and is now due to be allocated a handicap mark this week. Lisdarragh went back to Chelmsford, the scene of a course and distance win previously, but he was not able to make ground in the closing stages and will progress as this was his first run after a lengthy break.
