Wonder Starelzaam winning well again - up in trip this time at Windsor
James Kerr's Elzaam gelding prevailed in convincing style at Windsor yesterday afternoon, under a fine George Bass ride. Stepping up to ten furlongs for his first turf outing, he broke prominently from his 2 draw and then was settled back into midfield. George took an inside rail position in the right hand curve and had to check him for a few strides as the leaders slowed things up at the beginning of the loop back to home. Wonder Starelzaam was moving very well again entering the final half mile and he had to show patience in waiting for a gap to make his run. This came inside the final quarter mile and he showed a really good turn of foot to join two rivals entering the final furlong. George had Wonder Starelzaam able to continue his run right through to the line, and by the post he was over a length clear as he finished off his race very strongly indeed to win at long odds.
