Sonnetina ran yet another very good race, this time under Harry Burns, to claim second prize in the Vickers Bookmaker Handicap over ten furlongs at the Sussex track. She raced quite prominently from the early stages of the race and moved up into second over a quarter mile from home. Sonnetina clearly handles the unique configuration of the track and coped well with the ground, but she was not able to make an impression on the good winner's lead inside the final furlong and stayed on well to hold her place from two late closers. Consistent and reliable as ever, it cannot be long before Sonnetina is able to find her second race win.
